About American Marketing Association
American Marketing Association (AMA) at Cal State Channel Islands is a student organization club for all majors. The AMA leadership team has a mission of creating a welcoming community of students interested in various areas such as marketing, designing, advertising, career readiness, and more in weekly workshops and within networking opportunities.
The Task
As a leadership team member, I had a task to contribute and create a workshop to present in front of members and students about the basics of Facebook Meta Ads and ad creation.
The Outcome
With the help of my AMA President, we created a workshop slide deck of the fundamentals of Meta (Facebook) ads.
The type of information we provided was why Meta Ads is an effective advertising platform and the reason why it is beneficial to learn for jobs and freelancing gigs.
My AMA president and I wanted to create an interactive workshop, so we input a quick game of guessing types of Meta Ads. We explained how Meta Ads reach people from Meta platforms, how to create an effective ad during the platform walkthrough, and how students can obtain Meta Blueprint certifications to boost their social media advertising knowledge.

This workshop was presented in the Spring and Fall of 2021 and has brought students interested in learning to freelance in Meta ads.
